Maja Berden Zrimec is a Slovenian author whose fiction grows out of a long life in science. She holds a PhD in biology and works as a senior researcher in algal technology and applied marine science, based in Ljubljana.

She is the author of The Fire Tree: A Magical Journey, the first novel in a literary fantasy series, and is currently writing the second, The Blue Heart.
